PROFESSIONAL Audrey Matlock has 20 years experience as a EXPERIENCE practitioner and teacher of architecture. During that time, Ms. Matlock has led the design effort in some of the world's most prominent architectural offices including seven years at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and two years as Director of Design at Perkins and Will. Ms. Matlock established an independent practice in 1993 with an intent to uncompromisingly explore architectural design. Today she works in a studio environment where ideas are challenged daily and the highest level of importance is placed upon technical proficiency and professionalism. She believes that a dynamic office culture can be the catalyst for the production of forward thinking work.

Currently, as Principal of Design for Audrey Matlock Architect, Audrey is leading the design efforts for a new marketing development center for Armstrong World Industries in Pennsylvania, and an interior and exterior community spaces for Rockefeller University, Streetscape work for Battery Park City Authority as well as several Manhattan residential projects.

TEACHING Ms. Matlock believes in the importance of academic involvement to the development of a vital practice. The evolution of a practice which is grounded in the investigation of ideas and theories benefits from the constant debate that is at the foundation of architectural schools. She has taught architectural design on a regular basis in the graduate programs at Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas, and Parsons School of Design and in the undergraduate programs at Yale University and Catholic University. She is frequently a studio critic at several Universities and has lectured at UCLA, Yale University, Catholic University, University of Texas and Carnegie Mellon University.

AWARDS Ms. Matlock's work has been published and exhibited locally and internationally and she has been the recipient of several honors and awards including a Progressive Architecture Award, several competition awards and the Tau Sigma Delta Medal for Distinction in the Field of Architecture. She was an Emerging Voice for the NY Architectural League and her work was recently featured on Oxygen TV.
