Nandinee Phookan started the firm in 1998. She has a Master's degree in Housing and Environmental Design from MIT and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Delhi in India.

Nandinee's broad interest in the application of design thinking is reflected in the firm's portfolio of projects ranging from graphics and branding, textiles, furniture and exhibition design to architecture and urban design.
