Stas Zakrzewski has had a seasoned foundation in the architecture field receiving both his under graduate and graduate degrees in architecture (University College in Dublin and Columbia University respectively). His professional experience has led him to work as an architect in Ireland, Japan and the US. His personal interests in architecture lie in pushing the structural and mechanical limitations of traditional construction. Working closely with engineers and contractors Mr. Zakrzewski has the unique ability to challenge and manipulate mundane building practices resulting in both a sophisticated and cost effective approach to architecture. Mr. Zakrzewski has been licensed in the state of New York since 2000.
Marianne Hyde first was exposed to art and architecture while pursuing her BFA at Parsons School in Design. She was taught to approach architecture though art and this methodology has resulted in an acute sense of texture, materiality and color. She honed her approach to architecture while studying for her Masters of Architecture at Columbia University. Today the balance of receiving degrees in both the fine arts and architecture results in work that is both visually tactile and spatially elegant. Ms. Hyde has been licensed in the state of New York since 2000 and is NCARB certified.
Zakrzewski + Hyde Architects embraces architecture at the intersection of the beautiful and the pragmatic, combining an understanding and appreciation for art and architectural history, form and theory with substantial experience with construction materials and methods. All of our projects begin with a careful evaluation of the clients’ program, schedule and the site constraints and each is developed as the optimal synthesis of its most important aesthetic and conceptual opportunities. Our understanding of the larger building process, detailing and the mass production of building components enable us to create unique works of architecture that transcend their often simple material and construction methodologies, regardless of budget, scale or program.
