Over the last decade and a half, Barry Price and his studio have completed over one hundred Building Projects in the Hudson Valley.
Upon completion of his studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, he obtained professional experience in the studios of architects including Marc Angelil and Sarah Graham, Jorge Silvetti and Rodolfo Machado, Rafael Moneo, Richard Keating, and the Landscape Designer Nancy Goslee Power.
Having participated in design competitions, design development, construction documentation and project management in these studios, he settled on New York's Hudson Valley as the location to pursue his own architectural practice.
Inspired by the vernacular agricultural buildings that populate the local landscape, the studio has developed and refined an approach that merges a respect for the accumulated wisdom of regional building practices with an uncompromising modern sensibility. As projects have grown from Renovations to Additions to new Homes, the studio has developed an integrated approach to design that incorporates high performance building and sustainable building techniques.
While most of the completed projects to date are residences, the studio has designed and realized small retail, commercial and institutional projects with equally enduring results.
Barry Price taught Architectural Design as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Art at Vassar College from 2000 - 2005. His work has been published and exhibited in a variety of regional galleries and publications.
