1200 Avenue

 Back to Projects list

Directly across the Hudson River from Midtown Manhattan, 1200 Avenue is a 103-unit condo building, part of a collection of buildings nestled below the Palisades with amazing views and easy access to New York City. The building is defined by a rhythm of balconies that are connected in a shifting progression of right angles set against floor-to-ceiling glass. This abstract pattern creates double height spaces in the balconies, and gives the feeling of unobstructed openness to the sky and river, while also allowing natural light to penetrate deeper into the interior of the units.

The horizontal emphasis and shifting progression of these elements along the façade draws the eye out toward the Hudson River while the unobstructed glass wall takes advantage of the river and city views.
