To reinforce Léger’s conceptual framework in the 1920s, of challenging the relationship between the painting and surrounding context, the exhibition strives to disrupt the conventional interaction between the artwork, the individual, and the spatial experience. Walls were conceived as a decentering accumulation of disparate planes, activating the physical space of the exhibition and mobilizing a lively discursive traffic across artworks of diverse media.
