At the Queens Botanical Gardens (QBG) ABB redesigned over 5,000 linear feet of interior pathways and perimeter sidewalks, improved the Oak Allée and Cherry Circle turf areas, enhanced an existing irrigation well, and created a new irrigation well system including designs for its well houses. QBG serves over 210,000 visitors each year, many coming to the Oak Allée and Cherry Circle for special garden events. New well houses and a state-of-the-art automatic irrigation system for the garden’s Cherry Circle, Cultivated Gardens, Oak Allée, and Wedding Garden deliver significantly improved hydrological performance. New irrigation also provides water to the southeastern areas, the Senior Garden and College Point entrance. ABB’s design provides visitors with safer pedestrian access, clearer circulation, and a heightened aesthetic experience. At the same time, it accommodates maintenance vehicle requirements and improves surface-drainage conditions.
