Holger Hinz, geboren 1968 in Stuttgart, studierte an der Universität Stuttgart Bauingenieurwesen von 1990 bis 1996. Im Anschluss arbeite er als Objektplaner im Ingenieurbüro Lachenmann in Vaihingen-Enz. 1999 begann er als Projektingenieur und Projektleiter bei Werner Sobek AG. Hier übernahm er 2006 die Team-leitung Tragwerk und begann seine Tätigkeit als Prokurist. Von 2008 bis 2011 leitete er das Werner Sobek Büro in Cairo als Geschäftsführer. Seit 2013 ist er als Managing Director und Director Structures für Wer-ner Sobek Dubai tätig. 2018 nahm er außerdem eine Tätigkeit als Lehrbeauftragter an der Hochschule Biberach an.

Mustafa Alkan, geboren 1980 in Bruchsal, studierte an der Hochschule Karlsruhe Bauingenieurwesen von 1999 bis 2005. Im Anschluss arbeite er ein Jahr als Forschungsassistent des Bauingenieurwesens. 2007 begann Mustafa Alkan als Projektingenieur bei Werner Sobek Frankfurt. 2010 wechselte er als Repräsen-tant und Projektleiter zu Werner Sobek Istanbul. Dort ist er seit 2015 als Geschäftsführer tätig.

Dipl.-Ing. Roland Bechmann

Roland is Managing Director and Partner of the international engineering consultancy Werner Sobek. Born in Berlin, he subsequently moved to Hanover, Germany, where he studied Structural Engineering. Having accomplished his diploma, Roland started working at Werner Sobek and soon rose to be appointed first principal, then general manager, and finally managing director and partner. Roland heads the department of competitions and is a specialist of project management, lightweight structures and steel constructions. He has extensive experience in various important high-rise projects, such as ADAC Headquarters in Mu-nich/Germany, the Hegau Tower in Singen/Germany and the 400 m high Olympic Tower in Nanjing/China. In addition Roland has been in charge of several complex and large-scale projects such as World Expo 2017 in Astana/Kazakhstan and the underground railway station in Stuttgart/Germany. Since 2013, Roland has also been Country Representative of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

Radu-Florin Berger, geboren in Zernen, Rumänien, studierte an der Universität Stuttgart Bauingenieurwesen von 2001 bis 2008. Während eines Auslandaufenthalts 2005 arbeitete er an der University of Tokyo im Bereich Bridge and Structure Laboratory, unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Yozo Fujino. Im Anschluss war er im Ingenieurbüro Jiangsu Provincial Achitecture Design & Research Institut Ltd. Company in Nanjing/China tätig. 2008 begann er als Projektingenieur seine Karriere bei Werner Sobek. 2012 wurde er Projektleiter, 2018 Prokurist bei der Werner Sobek AG. Seit 2019 leitet Radu-Florin Berger das Büro von Werner Sobek Berlin.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. M.Arch. Lucio Blandini

Lucio Blandini studied structural engineering at the Universities of Catania and Bologna before moving to the University of Stuttgart. There he obtained his PhD at the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design (ILEK). In this context, he developed and built the so-called Stuttgart Shell, a filigree glass-only shell structure spanning 8.5 m. After completing a master's degree in architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and at the Architectural Association in London, he took up a position as project manager at Werner Sobek. He has been partner as well as managing director since 2018. Since April 2020 he has also been head of ILEK and a full-time professor at the University of Stuttgart. His most important projects include the Ferrari Museum in Modena, the special facades of the Japan Post Tower in Tokyo, the Etihad Museum in Dubai, the House of European History in Brussels, and Terminal 2 at Kuwait International Airport.

Bernd Glückert, geboren 1971 in Nürnberg, studierte von 1993 bis 1997 Bauingenieurwesen in Coburg. Im Anschluss war er bis 2009 als Projektleiter bei verschiedenen Planungsbüros in Großbritannien tätig. 2010 bis 2014 wechselte er als Projektleiter zu verschiedenen Planungsbüros in Deutschland. Bis 2015 bis 2016 leitete den Bereich Konstruktiver Ingenieurbau bei der Schüssler-Plan Ingenieurgesellschaft in Nürnberg. Bis 2020 arbeitete er in seiner Funktion als Leiter des Technischen Büros Hochbau/FTW bei Max Bögl Bauservice in Nürnberg. 2020 übernahm er bei Werner Sobek Frankfurt die Geschäftsführung.

Stephen Hagenmayer is managing director and partner of Werner Sobek. He was born in Stuttgart and also studied Civil Engineering there. He has been with Werner Sobek since 1998. Since 2009, he has been managing director (and from 2016, board member) of the company. From 2007 to 2011 he was also managing director of Werner Sobek Moskva. His main areas of activity are controlling, human resources and administration.

Frank Heinlein was born in 1969 in Berlin, Germany. After studies at the Universities of Berlin, Germany; Edinburgh, Great Britain; and Strasbourg, France he took his PhD in Contemporary History at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. He has been in charge of business communication of the Werner Sobek Group since 2000. From 2008 until 2013 he also acted as strategic adviser to the German Sustainable Building Council DGNB. Frank Heinlein works and lives in Stuttgart, Germany. He is one of the founders and member of the managing board of the not-for-profit association aed e.V.

Stefan Klemm, geboren 1984 in Mannheim, absolvierte von 2002 bis 2005 eine Ausbildung zum Gas-Wasser-Installateur an der gewerblichen Berufsfachschule Heinrich-Lanz-Schule in Mannheim. Die nächsten drei Jahre schloss er eine betriebliche Ausbildung zum Gas-Wasser-Installateur bei NUGA in Mannheim Käfertal an. Nach einer Schulung 2006 zum Sicherheitsmitarbeiter und einem Praktikum als Sicherheitsmit-arbeiter bei Securitas, begann er 2007 seine Tätigkeit als Gas-Wasser-Installateur bei Quick-Office Perso-nalmanagement. 2008 wechselte er in derselben Funktion zu Peter Remp, Energie und Wärmetechnik GmbH in Mannheim. An der Heinrich-Meidinger Schule Bundesfachschule für Sanitär-, Heizungs- und Kli-matechnik in Karlsruhe bildete er sich erst von 2008 bis 2010 weiter zum staatlich geprüften Techniker in der Fachrichtung Sanitärtechnik in Karlsruhe, dann 2010 bis 2011 zum staatlich geprüfter Techniker in der Fachrichtung Heizungs-, Lüftungs-, Klimatechnik. 2013 begann er als Projektleiter im Ingenieurbüro htp in Weinheim. Dort ist er seit 2018 Büroleiter.

Torsten Noak, geboren 1971 in Halle an der Saale, absolvierte von 1992 bis 1998 ein Bauingenieurstu-dium an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Dort war auch als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter bis 2004 tätig. Von 2005 bis 2006 arbeitete er als freiberuflicher Tragwerksplaner. 2007 begann er als Projektingenieur bei der Werner Sobek AG, 2008 übernahm er hier auch Projektleitung. Seit 2018 ist er als Prokurist bei der Werner Sobek AG tätig, seit 2020 als Geschäftsführer der IFT GmbH in Berlin.

Enrica Oliva absolvierte 2004 das Bauingenieurstudium im Bachelor an der Universität Cassino in Italien. 2006 folgte der Master in Bauingenieurwesen an der Columbia Universität in New York. Von 2007 bis 2013 war sie als Projektmitarbeiterin bei Thornton Tomasetti in New York angestellt. Die nächsten zwei Jahre übernahm sie dort die Funktion Projektleiterin. 2016 übernahm sie die Leitung Tragwerksabteilung bei Werner Sobek New York, und beginnt als Adjunct Assistant Professor an der Columbia University New York tätig zu werden. Seit 2017 ist sie bei Werner Sobek New York Partner und COO.

Werner Sobek is an architect and consulting engineer. As successor to Frei Otto and Jörg Schlaich, Werner Sobek founded the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design at the University of Stuttgart. From 2008 until 2014 he was Mies van der Rohe Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Werner Sobek also lectures at numerous universities at home in Germany and abroad, including in Graz (Austria), Singapore and Harvard (USA). He was chairman of the DFG Collaborative Research Centre “SFB 1244” on “Adaptive Building Skins and Structures” from 2017 to 2020.

Werner Sobek founded the interest group AED Architecture Engineering and Design in Stuttgart, which he has chaired since its inception in 2003.

Werner Sobek was a co-founder of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and a member of the board of directors from 2007 until 2013 (president from 2008 until 2010).

In 2011 he co-founded and become the president of the Stuttgart Institute of Sustainability, SIS. In addition, he was chairman of the University Council of the HafenCity University Hamburg from 2006 until 2010 as well as adviser on technology and research to the University of Graz. He was a member of the Board of Overseers at Harvard University from 2012 until 2017; he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the International Center for Culture and Technology Research (IZKT) since 2013.

Werner Sobek has received numerous prizes and honours for his work both at home and abroad. His work has been acknowledged in many exhibitions around the world.

Iwan Tomovic geboren 1975 in Sabac, Serbien, studierte von 1995 bis 2002 Bauingenieurwesen an der Universität Belgrad in Serbien. Von 2003 bis 2005 war er als Bauingenieur in Belgrad und Budva, Mon-tenegro tätig. Ebenfalls in dieser Zeit war er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Baumechanik und
Theorie der Tragwerksplanung an der Universität Belgra tätig. Im Anschluss arbeitete bis 2007 als Projek-tingenieur und Bauleiter bei Omni Structure in Moskau. Dann wechselte er zu Werner Sobek Moskwa. Zu-nächst als Projektleiter und Tragwerksplaner bis 2009, dann 2009 als Büroleiter und Tragwerksplaner und schließlich seit 2012 als Geschäftsführer.

Frederic Waimer, geboren 1985 in Stuttgart, studierte von 2005 bis 2009 Bauingenieurwesen an der Universität Stuttgart. Von 2008 bis 2010 arbeitete er als Projektmitarbeiter bei der Werner Sobek AG. Im Anschluss kehrte er bis 2015 an die Universität Stuttgart als Promotionsstudent und wissenschaftlicher Mit-arbeiter am Institut für Tragkonstruktionen und Konstruktives Entwerfen zurück. 2012 bis 2013 war er au-ßerdem Promotionsstudent an der École des Ponts Paris Tech. Vor seiner Promotion 2016 im Bauingenieur-wesen an der Universität Stuttgart, arbeite er als Projektingenieur bei Werner Sobek. 2016 bis 2020 über-nahm er dort Projektleitungen. Seit 2020 ist er einerseits Teamleiter Tragwerk, andererseits Büroleiter von Werner Sobek Wien.

Thomas Winterstetter has been Managing Director at Werner Sobek’s Stuttgart office since 2008 and has been Partner of the Werner Sobek AG since 2016. After having joined the company in 2001, he has spent most of his career focusing on the design and construction of complex building envelopes and structures, and he completed a wide range of projects across the globe, ranging from supertall high-rise buildings to cultural facilities. Thomas Winterstetter holds a PhD in Structural Engineering at the University of Essen/Germany and also graduated in Economics at the University of Hagen/Germany. Since 2018 he has also been an honorary professor at the University of Stuttgart, where he has been a lecturer since 2004.
