New York Presbyterian Hospital - The University Hospitals of Columbia and Cornell, Cornell Surgical Associates Department of Surgery

The renovation and expansion of the Weill Cornell Surgical Practice's Department of Surgery is being created in phases, based on a master plan developed by Dattner Architects. The Skills Acquisition Innovation Laboratory (SAIL) is Phase III of the project. SAIL is a dynamic facility, providing advanced training in surgical operating procedures and advanced robotic/simulated clinical immersion surgical experiences. The space and syllabus was designed to comply with College of Surgeons requirements. SAIL’s interiors express nature as a changing, complex environment, complementing the stimulating clinical and interpersonal pedagogical aims of the facility.
